It’s funny and slightly paining how often when you live in a city and grow up there, you rarely immerse yourself in the tourist and cultural attractions around you. I am a Melbournian, born and bred, and rarely do I venture into the city to admire the beautiful historic buildings and architecture, laneways, street performers, or any of the other wonders this magnificent city has to offer. I live in the suburbs, work in the suburbs, perhaps go out into the city now and then, but hardly to admire its beauty.
However, just the other day, I set myself a mission- to photograph this city and some of the marvel that we as Melbournians take for granted everyday. Although I didn’t get around the whole city or to all the “tourist detinations” I did gain a new appreciation for many of the old colonial buildings that line the gridline city streets.
These are beautiful. Thank you for your perspective!
